Anthony Daly, former Clare captain and manager, has said that the GAA’s Hurling 2020 Review Committee should have included a sin bin in its proposals. He cites the example of rugby where such a system has already been implemented and we could learn from it. However we don’t have to look outside the family of Gaelic games. Ladies’ Gaelic football has had a sin bin for years. Maybe we should ask them how it operates; we wouldn’t even have to leave Croke Park to see it in action.
